We’re counting down the hours now until the 2015 Knik 200 which begins Saturday at 1pm in Willow. Lots and lots of stuff going on behind the scenes as we get everything in place. Meanwhile, the latest line up for the Knik 200 is up on our website at www.knik200sleddograce.com. Lots of familiar names on there including a guy who has won the Iditarod– Dean Osmar; the latest addition to the field. Who’s ready for another exciting sled dog race?

Mushers, you may include Heet in your drop bag(s) which you’ll be bring to the start line at Deshka Landing airstrip (by 11am) because the bags aren’t being flown out.

Congratulations go out to Willow Rhode for winning the 2015 Knik 200 Josh Reeding Sr. Memorial Sled Dog Race! He finished strong and his dogs appear ready to do another loop of the swamp. Way to go, Will!

Thank you EagleQuest Cabins & Lodge for the wonderful 24/7 hospitality to not just the Knik 200 race volunteers but also to all the mushers and race fans. You provided a special race-themed menu, endless and fresh hot coffee, all served with genuine warmth and smiles no matter what the hour. Thank you for being such a huge part of the Knik 200! We encourage everyone to visit the folks at EagleQuest any time of year for home cooked meals or even to rent their cozy cabins. 

Signups for the 2016 Knik 100 and 200 races will open up on Saturday, October 3 at noon on our website at http://www.knik200sleddograce.com/. If you want to sign up but will not have Internet access at that time, or will be otherwise unavailable, you may designate someone to sign up for you via the website. As we get closer, more details will be posted on our Facebook page and on our website blog.
