Knik 200 Memorial Sled Dog Race 2016 OFFICIAL RACE RULES HISTORYThe Knik 200 Joe Redington Sr. Memorial Sled Dog Race was founded by Sally Welch of Eagle River, Alaska. In addition to being a competitive 200 mile race, the Knik 200 continues to be a valuable training race for the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race and is an Iditarod-sanctioned qualifying race. RACE COURSEThe Knik 200 Sled Dog Race starts from Knik Lake and follows part of the old Iditarod Trail system to various trails skirting Big Lake into the Willow area to Eagle Quest Lodge (approximately 60 miles from the start).
